Darvel & Area Regeneration Team (DART)
This Hire Agreement is made between:
Darvel & Area Regeneration Team (DART)
(“The Organiser”)
and
The Hirer (as named on the booking confirmation).
This agreement applies to the hire of The Corner, Darvel.
The booking confirmation email forms part of this agreement and includes:
Date(s) and time(s) of hire
Area(s) booked
Agreed fee
Deposit (if applicable)
Any agreed equipment
The Hirer may only use the premises during the confirmed times.
Access outside these times must be agreed in advance.
The hire fee must be paid by the agreed due date.
A refundable deposit may be required.
The deposit may be retained in full or part to cover:
Damage
Cleaning beyond normal use
Failure to comply with this agreement
The Hirer agrees to:
Use the premises only for the stated purpose.
Ensure the event is lawful and appropriate for a public community space.
Not exceed safe occupancy levels.
Keep all emergency exits clear at all times.
Supervise children appropriately.
Leave the premises in a clean and tidy condition.
The Hirer must not:
Use the space for illegal activities.
Make permanent alterations.
Use naked flames without prior written agreement.
Block access routes or emergency exits.
The Hirer agrees to comply with all guidance in the Hub Usage Guide (Safety & Operating Guidance).
The Hirer is responsible for:
Conducting any necessary risk assessments for their event.
Ensuring equipment brought onto site is safe and fit for purpose.
Managing crowd behaviour safely.
Ensuring clear access to ramps and steps.
Reporting any incidents immediately.
In the event of an emergency, the Hirer must follow evacuation procedures.
The Hirer is responsible for their event and attendees.
Where appropriate, the Hirer must hold adequate Public Liability Insurance and provide evidence if requested.
DART shall not be liable for:
Loss, theft, or damage to the Hirer’s property.
Injury arising from the Hirer’s activities.
Cancellation due to circumstances beyond reasonable control (e.g., severe weather, safety concerns).
The Hirer must ensure:
Noise levels are reasonable and considerate.
Music complies with any licensing requirements.
Events conclude at the agreed time.
Failure to comply may result in the event being terminated.
The Hirer is responsible for:
Any damage caused by attendees.
The cost of repair or replacement.
Damage must be reported immediately.
If the Hirer cancels:
Notice periods and refund terms will apply as stated in the booking confirmation.
DART reserves the right to cancel bookings where:
Safety is compromised.
Terms are breached.
The space becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances.
DART reserves the right to:
Refuse entry.
Terminate the event.
Retain deposit.
If the Hirer breaches this agreement.
By confirming the booking, the Hirer agrees:
They have read and understood this Hire Agreement.
They accept responsibility for the event and attendees.
They agree to comply with the Hub Usage Guide.
Acceptance may be recorded via:
Online signature,
Email confirmation,
Or written agreement.
The Corner is operated by Darvel & Area Regeneration Team (DART).
DART reserves the right to update this agreement.
The version in force at the time of booking confirmation applies.
