Living memory · Summer 2026
When
dinosaurs
came to
Darvel.
Sunshine, music, a parade and two very large visitors made Darvel Gala Day a day to remember.

A town
out in the
sunshine.
Yoshi and Rexy brought the dinosaur stomp to the heart of the Gala.
Families gathered for live music, attractions and the traditional parade through town. The Gala Court was led by Queen Zara Frame with attendant Daniella Caleb.
The photographs capture the moment the extraordinary met the everyday: children looking up, costumes in the sun and familiar faces all around.

The work
behind the
celebration.
A Gala Day only appears effortless because so many people give their time.
Planning, fundraising, stewarding and clearing up sit behind the parade and entertainment. The 2026 event continued a tradition built and renewed by local volunteers.
A bright, generous day made in Darvel.
