Research notes

John was a territorial enlistment from 27th May 1910 to 26th May 1914

At some point after this date and until his death, he served as a private in A Company, 11th Battalion of the Worcester Regiment, where he was ultimately killed.

The Darvel war memorial lists him in the Ayrshire Yeomanry, while the Commonwealth War Graves Commission lists him in the Worcester Regiment, where details about the Doiran War Memorial can be found.
